Technology, not taxes!

 In 2020, Australia suffered from national bushfires. 
It made the Australian government do some specific actions for climate change. It announced 'Technology Investment Roadmap.' Also, it submits the 'Low Emissions Technology Statement' to congress.

Australia's main point of reducing carbon emissions is not requiring more taxes but improving technologies for the problem.

This is a graph of annual sales of Australian electric vehicles. Through the trend of the graph, it can be seen that Australians' demand for electric vehicles has been rising sharply in recent years.

'Emerging and Enabling Technologies' is one of the low-carbon emission technologies in the roadmap. It includes building electric vehicle charging facilities, energy managing systems, digital infra, and energy efficiency. In order to meet the demand for electric vehicles, the government is also trying to implement these low-carbon emission technology policies.

Australia would support the development of charging technologies rather than subsidy or tax exemption benefits. So it would focus on lower energy prices.
Infrastructure Australia under the federal government is expected to speed up the construction of charging infrastructure by announcing that it will prioritize high-speed charging networks across the country to strengthen fast charging networks and improve policies and regulations to support charging technology adoption. In addition, the state government, including NSW, SA, and VIC, also announced plans to install additional electric vehicle charging stations.

 A company is also interested in the government's low-carbon emission technology. JOLT, an electric vehicle charging network, announced that it plans to install 5,000 free fast chargers in major Australian cities. Drivers using the JOLT charger will be able to charge up to 7kWh (about 45km driving) free of charge. The electricity used is generated by renewable energy. 

With these efforts to supply electric vehicles, we hope Australia to become an eco-friendly low-carbon emission country like its wonderful natural scenery.
